EHDI Annual Conference 25 Year Anniversary

 

Family Leadership Awardees
Honors a parent or family member of a child who is deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) for providing exemplary leadership in their state EHDI system. Recipients must be actively involved in their state EHDI system and have made important contributions to EHDI-related policies, procedures, and/or improved service.


The Antonia Brancia Maxon Award for EHDI Excellence Awardees
Honors the life and work of Antonia Maxon to promote effective EHDI programs. Beginning with her leadership in the Rhode Island Hearing Assessment Project in the late 1980's, she was one of the first to recognize the feasibility and value of universal newborn hearing screening. The award honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to achieving excellence in EHDI programs.


EHDI Coordinator Hall of Fame
Recognizes former EHDI coordinators who served at least 10 years demonstrating exceptional, sustained leadership in coordinating and advancing EHDI programs. This recognition reflects a distinguished career marked by excellence in program administration, collaboration, policy development, data-driven oversight, and advocacy that strengthened the EHDI program by shaping best practices, mentoring professionals, and leaving a lasting legacy of improved outcomes for infants and families.

EHDI Heroes
Recognizes individuals for leading, advancing, or significantly contributing to the early identification of hearing loss and the timely provision of intervention services for infants and young children. This designation reflects innovative efforts, advocacy, research, program development, and/or policy leadership that improved screening, diagnosis, family support, access to evidence-based interventions, and/or promotion of optimal language, social, and developmental outcomes.
