Considerations in Collecting and Documenting Language Outcome Data

When: September 29, 2023 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm MDT

Description

One of the primary reasons that professionals in the field of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) strive to meet 1-3-6 benchmarks is to maximize the language skills of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Measuring progress toward this goal – as well as identifying healthy disparities (characteristics that may put some children at higher risk for language delay) -- relies on the collection and documentation of language outcomes.

Join us for a webinar and question & answer session on key considerations when collecting, sharing, and documenting language outcomes. Careful planning is critical in order to develop processes that result in the acquisition, analysis, and reporting of useful and meaningful data at the program and/or statewide level.

Topics for this introductory webinar include:

  • Identifying partners to facilitate collection/sharing of language outcomes
  • Potential processes and procedures to obtain language outcome data
  • Considerations in selecting a language assessment
  • Critical fields to include in a database
  • Possible organization of database fields
  • How to find:
    • A local audiologist to assist in program development, training, and diagnostic services
    • Other implementation resources and opportunities for training and technical assistance
